About DISC and Discflow
What is DISC?
DISC is one of the world’s most widely used behavioural frameworks. It describes four primary styles — Dominance, Influence, Steadiness and Compliance — and how those styles shape the way people communicate, make decisions and respond under pressure. DISC is not owned by any single organisation. It is an open model, which is why you will find many different DISC tools in the market, each built and measured differently.
What is Discflow and how is it different from other DISC tools?
Discflow is a behavioural assessment and development platform that brings together DISC and Emotional Intelligence in one integrated model. Where most DISC tools focus on behavioural style alone, Discflow adds the Emotional Intelligence layer showing not just how someone tends to behave, but why, and how greater self-awareness enables them to adapt. DISC Academy is an Official Discflow Partner, one of the most comprehensive Discflow resources in Australia and the Asia-Pacific.
Is DISC a personality test?
No. DISC is a behavioural assessment, not a personality test. It measures preferred behavioural styles, how someone tends to communicate, make decisions and respond under pressure, rather than fixed personality traits. DISC is non-judgemental: there is no good or bad profile, only different styles with different strengths.
Do DISC results change over time?
DISC profiles can shift gradually over time as life and work circumstances change. Most people find their core style remains relatively consistent, while the way they express it adapts to different contexts. Discflow assessments can be retaken if a significant amount of time has passed or if someone feels their results no longer reflect how they work.
DISC Certification and Accreditation
Do I need prior DISC knowledge to get certified?
No. Our certification and accreditation programs start with the foundations and build from there. No prior DISC experience is required. People come to DISC Academy from backgrounds including coaching, HR, L&D, leadership, training and facilitation, and all are well served by the program regardless of starting point.
What are the different ways I can get DISC certified?
DISC Academy offers four certification modes: Face to Face in a small group in your capital city, Virtual via live Zoom sessions, Self-Paced Online through structured modules completed in your own time, and In-House where we certify a group within your organisation. We also offer a two-hour upgrade pathway for people already certified in another DISC tool.
I am already certified in another DISC tool. Can I still enrol?
Yes. If you hold a current DISC certification from another provider, you may be eligible for our two-hour upgrade pathway to become Discflow certified without repeating everything you already know. Get in touch and we will confirm your eligibility.
Will I be confident enough to facilitate DISC after certification?
We teach the knowledge, skills and process needed to facilitate DISC confidently. The certification gives you the foundation, how much you develop from there depends on how much you practise and apply it. What we can tell you is that our program is built around practical application, not just theory, and our support does not stop when the certification day ends.
What does the certification include?
All certification modes include your personal Discflow DISC and Emotional Intelligence reports, access to FlowHub for managing and distributing assessments, sample reports, facilitator guides, slides and workshop templates, your certificate and digital badge, and ongoing support from the DISC Academy team.
How will I get access to my own DISC assessment and report?
Once enrolled, you receive a link to complete your own Discflow assessment online before the training begins. Your personal report is provided as part of the certification so you experience the tool as a learner before using it with others.
What is the difference between the face-to-face and Virtual modes?
Both deliver the full certification experience with live facilitation and peer interaction. Face-to-face takes place in person in a capital city and is ideal if you learn best through in-room discussion and hands-on practice. Virtual runs live via Zoom and suits people who prefer the flexibility of joining from anywhere without needing to travel. The content, outcomes and credential are identical.
DISC Reports and Assessments
Do I need to be DISC certified to purchase reports?
No. You can purchase Discflow reports directly through DISC Academy without completing certification. However if you plan to debrief reports with clients or teams professionally, we recommend certification so you can get the most from the tool and deliver maximum value to the people you work with.
What is the difference between Portrait 2.0 and Core 2.0?
Portrait 2.0 covers DISC behavioural style only and is the most accessible entry point, iideal for team workshops and wide rollouts. Core 2.0 adds the Emotional Intelligence layer, giving a deeper picture of not just how someone behaves but why. Core 2.0 is our most popular report. If budget allows, it is the one we most commonly recommend.
What is FlowConnect and does it come with every report?
FlowConnect is an AI-powered companion that helps people apply their report insights in real workplace moments before a difficult conversation, during a team meeting, when giving feedback. It is included with Portrait 2.0, Core 2.0, Leader 2.0 and Sales 2.0 at no extra cost. It is not included with Group 2.0, Fit 2.0 or Flow360.
What is FlowHub?
FlowHub is the platform Discflow Certified Trainers use to manage and distribute assessments to their clients. Once you are certified, FlowHub gives you a significant discount on report pricing and puts the full administration of your client assessments in one place.
Can I buy reports in bulk?
Yes. Certified Trainers with a FlowHub account receive significantly discounted pricing on all reports. If you are purchasing reports for a large cohort or ongoing programme, get in touch to discuss volume arrangements.
Can I upgrade a report after purchase?
Yes. You can upgrade from Portrait 2.0 to Core 2.0, or from Core 2.0 to Leader 2.0, and only pay the token difference. Get in touch to arrange an upgrade.
DISC Workshops
How do you design a DISC workshop?
We start with a conversation. Before designing anything, we ask: what are the behavioural and team challenges your people are experiencing right now? What is the learning goal? What do you want participants to walk away with? What do you want them to do differently at work? Those answers shape everything, the structure, the reports we use, the activities we build and the time we allocate.
Which reports do you use for workshops?
We recommend the report that best suits the learning goal. For most team sessions, Core 2.0, which combines DISC and Emotional Intelligence, is our recommendation. For shorter sessions or wider rollouts, Portrait 2.0 is a strong choice. For leadership programs, Leader 2.0 is often the right fit. We will guide you to the right report in our initial conversation.
Will you handle the assessments and reports as well as the facilitation?
Yes. We manage the full process from sending assessment links and tracking completions through to preparing the reports and facilitating the session. You focus on your people and we take care of the rest.
Do you facilitate workshops in person and virtually?
Yes. We facilitate face to face across Australia’s capital cities and virtually via Zoom for teams anywhere in Australia, New Zealand and beyond. Hybrid delivery, where part of the group is in the room and others join online, is also available.
Will participants receive their reports before the workshop?
Yes. We send reports five to seven days before the session so participants have time to read and reflect before the day. This makes the workshop conversation richer and more personal.
How long does a DISC workshop run?
Sessions range from a two-hour introduction through to a full-day program, depending on your goals and group size. Multi-session programs are available for teams wanting to go deeper over time. We will recommend the right format based on your goals in our initial conversation.
Can you tailor the workshop to our industry or organisation?
Yes — and that is exactly how we work. Every workshop is built around the specific challenges and goals you share with us. Your industry, team size, culture and current dynamics all shape what we design.
Working with DISC Academy
What makes DISC Academy different from other DISC providers?

We offer multiple certification modes including a two-hour upgrade pathway, professional Discflow reports, expert designed and facilitated workshops, and genuine ongoing practitioner support. Real conversations about workshop design, how to embed DISC in your work, and how to grow your practice. We are a phone call away, and that is not a marketing line.
Where are you based, and do you work outside Australia?
DISC Academy is based in Melbourne, Australia. We work with clients across Australia and the Asia-Pacific, with facilitation available in person in major Australian cities and virtually anywhere in the world. We have facilitated workshops and certified practitioners in New Zealand, Singapore and the UK.
